Harm reduction is not enabling. Harm reduction is healthcare.
It recognizes that people deserve dignity, support, and access
to life-saving resources regardless of where they are in their journey.
At Hope on T.T.a.P.P., we meet people where they are —
without shame, without lectures, and without barriers.
That means offering HIV testing, hepatitis C treatment linkage,
Narcan distribution, and prevention education directly in communities.
Why It Matters
Utah continues to see rising rates of hepatitis C and HIV transmission,
especially in under-served and rural communities. Many individuals avoid
traditional healthcare settings because of stigma, discrimination,
or fear of being judged.
You cannot treat people effectively if they are too ashamed to walk through the door.
Peer-led care changes that dynamic. When someone sees a navigator who has lived
through addiction, diagnosis, incarceration, or recovery, trust begins immediately.
